Pedro’s Sponsorship Request

Karl Wiedemann,

Over the past year and a half, Blue Collar Mountain Biking has grown into one of the most popular sites for the everyday mountain biker, those that make up a majority of the mtb market.

While we post on a regular basis about interesting news and happenings in the cycling community, our overall goal is to provide reviews of products and useful information to the rest of the mountain bikers, like us, that have a great love for the sport but can’t afford the high priced options that are often pushed at them throughout industry publications.

Our inventory of products that we review and maintain continues to grow and we have reached a point where we need the ability to do the same level of maintenance, repair and builds of a bike shop. Since we run on very little money, we do not have the resources to continue to pay other people to do all of this for us, like we had to do in these pictures…

Bike Build without Pedro's Tools

So we have decided to request that Pedro’s sponsor the “Blue Collar Bike Garage”. I have always been impressed with your high quality products that are offered at very reasonable prices that our readers can afford. We are not looking for any kind of monetary support, however would like to have you provide us with the tools that we need to do our various projects.

While I realize this is a request for a large up front expense on your part, I believe it will be worth it for the following reasons:

  • You will permanently be our shop sponsor for as long as Blue Collar is up and running, without much additional expense.
  • We will always catalog our maintenance and bike builds with pictures on the site, which we will always clearly show using Pedro’s tools.
  • In every write up we do on maintenance and bike builds, we will link to and say that you sponsored the bike build.
  • You will consistently be put in front of our readership, which currently is 2500 visitors a day and over the past year has averaged 22% growth every month.
  • Your logo will gain a permanent top position on our Partners page.
  • Additional exposure on sister sites such as CommuteByBike.com and TwentyNineInches.com, which are also getting a combined traffic of over 2000 visitors a day and are growing at extremely fast rates.

I honestly believe this is a good investment for Pedro’s, and while we are asking for a large investment up front, over time your continued exposure to more and more readers will come at a very small continual cost of keeping the shop outfitted.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this and please let me know any questions you may have.
