Regression : A Sampler

December 31st, 2007 by Arleigh Jenkins

As my series on regression and technology will continue this week I want to quickly shoot some links your way to hopefully inspire and inform.

  • Jesse Lalonde won Chequamegon on a full rigid 29er single speed. Pushing it against a very elite class - he won with out the gears or suspension. In the past season he also won a very well deserved overall in the WORS Elite.
  • Team Dicky took on and successfully completed many endurance races in the past few years on a single speed/fully rigid mountain bike. La Ruta, BC Bike Race, Trans Rockies, 24 Hour World Championships and others on a ever growing race resume.
  • 29er forums speak about custom rigid forks and wheels.
  • Vintage/Retro forums are very active.
  • Weight weenies are concentrating on more things than suspension

SS 29ers are a winning combo, lighter, simpler, and you travel farther, I would love to see race results of a Carbon-SS-rigid!
