The 1×1 Swap Out : Minor Details

October 19th, 2007 by Arleigh Jenkins

There are many small details that come with building a bike. Grips, bars, seat, pedals, etc etc etc. This isn’t the best looking build, but more of an experiment so I’m going with whatever I have available.

Grips - ODI Ruffian Lockons

Handlebars - Easton Monkey Lite Carbon

Brakes - Avid Juicy 7’s
Seat - WTB
Seatpost - Thomson
Stem - Bontrager
Pedals - Time Atac
Chain Tensioner - Surly Tugnut

Other than the slight set back with the Maverick fork I am on schedule with the build. I need to track down some rotor Allen bolts for my rear wheel and a better selection of chain ring spacers.

I’m with ya on the lockon grips… I started using them a couple years ago and will never go back.

    Tim,

I like lock on grips with suspension, but on my fully rigid 29er there is nothing i want less on my bike than lock ons. They aren’t as padded as slip on grips, and they tend to be thicker which isn’t good for smaller hands trying to grasp tightly to the bar.

I dig the pink frame. when i decided to build a 1×1 i tried to get one on e-bay, but no such luck. mine is that funky green - it’s the best!
