Interbike Update 4
September 27th, 2007 by Brad QuartuccioAnother day, another dollar in the slots. And another update of some images.
Helmets aren’t too exciting usually, but Bern has a new take on them with hardshell skate inspirired versions. Integrated visors, varying colors, and even inclement weather add-ons such as ear flaps and insulated liners. Nice stuff.
Maybe my pick of the show. $160 helmet or bar mounted, waterproof video camera. A few AAA’s and a 2gig SD card get you 55minutes of recording time. The video looks good too, way better than I’d expect.
Hydrapak has a new waist mounted hydration pack as shown. Slosh free for those folks who don’t like a sweaty back, or weight on their shoulders. Also shown is their new commuting pack where the hose runs through the shoulder strap for built in insulation in all weather. And now all of their bladders turn fully inside out for cleaning and feature a slide lock top closure.
Under new management from Hayes, Maniou is back on the scene in a big way. All metal internals with cartridge guts for easy maintenance. A 29″ fork with a through axle and a backcountry/all mountain fork that rivals the SID in weight.
Park Tool has introduced a number of new tools - metric open wrenches, a spoke nipple y-wrench, digital scale, adjustable length framepumps and more…
For now, I’ve got an appointment to head to. More to come soon…
