Suspension Tips
August 29th, 2007 by Arleigh JenkinsTry to use only recommended lubes on your forks seals. The wrong ones can break down the seal or worse… plastic goodies inside the fork.
If you hose down your bike after a dirty ride try not to spray into the seals or pivots. Water and dirt can work under the seals .
Feel play in your head tube area? Rock the bike front to back while holding the front brake. Then turn the fork 90 degrees to the side, rock the bike front to back while holding the front brake again - if you still feel it it’s your headset. If you only feel it when the fork & wheel are pointed forward slide your hand down to the area where your lower castings meet your stanchions. Try the brake test again, if you feel the lowers or arch move front to back your bushings are most likely worn.
