you may find this usefull as ive found the tape tears up after a while n gets all messy.
i've been using a section of drinks bottle cut to shape and fastened on the inner side with cableties, once fitted simply heat gently with a normal ciggy lighter (set on max) or heatgun to shrinkwrap your frame, its not much quieter but it stops your paintwork gettin damaged

im sure if you combined that guys innertube idea with the shrinkwrapping u'll get something pretty solid and quiet.

hey guys great tips hear. I just had my frame powder coated and was worried about the chain stay getting scratched up. I cut an old inner tube to the length of the chain stay then cut it length ways and it fits perfectly around most chain stays if not just take a few mill of one edge with a pair of scissors. I then cut a long piece of the tube to tie the chain to a spoke to hold it up out the way, you could just remove the wheel I guess. then select the colour of electrical tape you prefer and start to wrap over the tube. once it gets going you can stretch the tape as it goes round and along the chain stay to hold the inner tube in place I have done 3 layers and its lasting ages. its really effective it lessens the clanging noise when you go down curbs and there will be no mess when I remove it.

TIP: search the 3M website, somewhere in there you can order a selection of 6 free samples, this includes protective and reflective films...may be better than lecky tape which chains tend to slice thru anyways :)

Both duct tape and electricians tape can make a nasty, sticky mess when left on long enough. I'd only consider using them in an emergency.

Fritz: Maybe you could have used the duct tape to deforrest the cheat and become more aero in the process, thus saving precious seconds on your mornings commute ;)

At least you could have covered the unsightly man-fur!

The zipper on my zip-up jersey completely fell apart on my commute this morning, exposing my manly hairy chest for all to see. Will duct tape repair that?
