Duct Tape Diaries
August 26th, 2007 by Arleigh Jenkins
When I think Blue Collar for some reason I think of Duct Tape. It is my goal for the next few weeks to come up with quality ways to fix your bike via duct tape. I even purchased the swanky black Scotch tape.
If you have any ideas or field proven techniques please share & I will do my best to test them out! !!

I’ve used a couple thicknesses of duct tape to make a kickass tire boot when I ran over a beer bottle and put a 3″ gash in the sidewall of my tire. I was poor, so this became a “permanent” fix until the tire wore out!
I learned a while back that tick removal with duct tape is as easy as 1) put a piece of duct tape over the tick & 2) remove the tape. The tick will be stuck to the tape for easy disposal. When on campouts I try to remember to wrap some duct tape around my water bottle. Seems like mountain bikers could wrap a little duct tape around their frame and be good to go…
Somewhere in Flickr recently I saw a photo of a bike that was duct taped to a bike rack. Better than nothing, I suppose.
