RockShox Disc Routing

August 15th, 2007 by Brad Quartuccio

Back in May I wrote about why to route disc cables/hoses to the inside of your fork leg. Most forks have different methods of routing the cable, some more obvious than others. RockShox forks of the past few years come packaged with a little black plastic block and a zip tie to hold the cable in place, but few seem to know where to place it. I’ve seen it on the stanchions, on the back of the fork leg and in the trash…

Mounting it on the fork brace is the correct place for it, and gives the cable/hose a nice gentle curve the hugs the inside of the fork leg. Yeah, put it there where it belongs.

I wish I had one of those little plastic blocks! My cable (when I got the bike) was routed around the back of the arch and it rubs off a lot of the metal! It made a pretty good gouge in there…

you can ‘make’ one of those by using two zip ties in a ‘figure 8′.
