Trim that Cable on your Disc Brake

August 13th, 2007 by Brad Quartuccio

Got cable actuated disc brakes? Make sure your cable is trimmed pretty close to the caliper. You want a bit of extra cable out there for adjustment purposes, but definitely not enough to even come close to being able to touch the rotor. This isn’t for thehealth of your rotor, but the health of your chompers. Having that cable get wound up in the rotor is a recipe for a quick trip over the bars.

Trim it!
