Turn your clipless pedals into platforms

July 31st, 2007 by Tim Grahl

Over at the Sooper-Genius blog they gave a great why-didn’t-I-think-of-that on building a platform that will snap into your clipless pedals so you can run your bike down to the grocery in your flipflops.

At first I was revolted. But I suppose if it’s just for cruising around this is no problem. Though, you might want to drill some screws into the flat so your shoes aren’t slipping all over the place. This reminds me why I use Mallets.

    Winwood Deckster story.

So these newbies are down from Chicago. They are working on their pedals after a ride trying to get the “flat part” out of their pedals that their bike shop had installed for them. They’ve got one pedal half disassembled. I go up, and twist the other deckster right off the pedal. A look of astonishment struck their faces and then the lightbulb went off.
