		<description>A sage mechanic once showed me how to determine thread direction. Hold the threaded portion, (in this case, a pedal) so that the end that is going to be inserted is pointing up. Look to see which way the threads slope upwards. If the threads slope upards to the right, it's right hand thread, upwards to the left, then it's left hand thread. 

This has served me well for over 15 years, but to each their own. As long as you find a system that works for you and you stick with it. :)</description>

Hold the threaded portion, (in this case, a pedal) so that the end that is going to be inserted is pointing up. Look to see which way the threads slope upwards. If the threads slope upards to the right, it&#8217;s right hand thread, upwards to the left, then it&#8217;s left hand thread. </p>
