I have a Slingshot tri bike and I like it. It's obviously not super stiff when out of the saddle, but it rides really great. Maintenance is a breeze, and power through the crankset/chainstays is about right on. There is some power lost to flex, but not a whole lot by my measure. My time splits are about the same on my Slingshot as on my regular bike.

nathan:

Yes, weird. The cool part about their frame design, with the flex-board which acts as a suspension. With the Slingshot design is the drive train is not affected as the rear triangle remains static, unlike most suspension designs. This design allows for the frame to be set up as a singelspeed with suspension. I am sure that Slingshot has benefited from the recent upsurge in popularity of singlespeed biking.

slingshots are so weird, anyone here actually have any first hand experience with them? i'm sort of amazed that the company is still around, i guess it means they must be doing something right, i just want to know what that something is.
