Sette Bike Travel Bag
October 30th, 2006 by MikeRight before we left for Interbike BlueCollar received the Sette Bike Travel Bag from PricePoint. We’ve received a lot of great Sette products from PricePoint already (tool set, bike repair stand and shoes) so I’m looking foward to using this bike bag. The first thing I noticed when I took the bike bag out of the box was how sturdy and heavy duty it felt. The second thing that came to my mind was man this thing is huge how in the heck could you lug it through an airport. After further inspection I noticed that it came equipped with wheels, imagine that.

The inside of the bag has two compartments for your wheels. Each compartment can be sinched tight with about 3 straps to keep the wheels from flopping around. There are also a couple of zipper pockets to store miscellaneous bike related paraphernalia.

I thought I would test the bag out by packing up the Gary Fisher X-Cal. I of course took the front and rear wheel off the bike and tightened them up in the wheel compartment. The 29″ wheels fit great in the bag. I also took the handlebar completely off and hung it down beside the bike. The X-Cal fit great, I was able to zip up the bag with no problem. There is no way that you could lug the packed bag anywhere without the help of the wheels.

I haven’t traveled with this bag yet but I can see how it would come in very handy if you only had a car with no bike rack. You could either put the bag in the trunk or back seat of the car and not have to worry about poking holes in the upholstery. You can pick up this bag from PricePoint for about $90.

Pretty cool, thanks for the review. It’s hard to find out what some of that Sette stuff is like. I have some of their cheaper stuff (like the mini-pump) but haven’t shelled out for the bigger purchases, I usually save that for a walk-in store or online if I’ve read a tonne of reviews.
