Our New Look and New Focus

October 23rd, 2006 by Tim Grahl

Blue Collar Mountain Biking got started about two and a half years ago to focus on riders, like us, who love the sport of mountain biking but don’t have tons of cash to drop on it. While we’ve still strived to bring that kind of info, we’ve also been posting a ton of other stuff.

Looking back we believe this may have taken away from the very noble focus we started with, so we are back pedaling a bit and refocusing the content of the site. Here’s what we’ll be sticking to from now on…

  • Reviews of Value Priced Products - We’ll be reviewing more products and dedicating multiple posts to each one. This way you get a good feel over a long period of time of how the products functions. And, as always, we’ll keep all the products we review in the “Blue Collar” price range.
  • Ways to Save Money - There are tons of ways to save money from how-tos on maintaining and fixing your bike to ways to build your own stuff. We’ll be posting a variety of things under this topic.
  • Good Deals on Products - There’s always ways to get great deals, both on and off-line, and we’ll be seeking them out and bringing them to you.

Along with our re-focus, we’ve redesigned the site (as you’ve probably already notice). If you find anything that’s not working right, please leave a comment or shoot us an email.

Hope you enjoy the site and we look forward to bringing you high quality and relevant content.

Looks great! I really like the three boxes above the fold… Hmmm. Giving me ideas.
I also like that you kept all the archival stuff, but it’s at the bottom of the page. Very clean. Good luck with it

I like the new look too and I am looking forward to the new content.

For some reason, since the change, your side bar shows up under the main body on my computer. My screen res is 1600 x 1200, so I am not sure why it is shifting down. Just thought I’d point it out in case anyone else is having the same issue.
