Virtual Reality Trainer

Got a good old boring cycling machine collecting dust in the corner of your house? It’s time to dump that thing and get yourself a new iMagic Virtual Reality Trainer from Tacx. This virtual reality biking system allows you to set different configurations including wind force, wind direction, and types of terrain. You can even cycle against other riders’ times and courses from all over the world via the internet. All this in your living room for a pricey $400. However, I think a 100-inch projection screen in lieu of that tiny flat panel in the picture would greatly enhance the experience and decrease the chances of this thing ending up in the corner of your house collecting dust.

Actually, I think this is the company that I wrenched a couple of times for at one of their pilot programs at a nearby cities YMCA where they had six of these linked together. You could pop into the “Y” and call up a course and results from any previous users on that course and “race” them in virtual reality land. They also had the projection machine that put up the screen on a wall and six could go at it at once. Pretty cool stuff!
