Viva las Interbike

September 26th, 2006 by Tim Grahl

We are here and getting revved up for the AM when the show floor will actually be open to us.

Mark, Mike and I all headed down to the Sands Expo where the show is held to poke around a bit and the doors were open while all the booths were being set up so I snuck a few pictures until one of the security people told me I wasn’t alowed to be taking pictures. You can check them out HERE.

After we got kicked out we headed to the mall to get something to eat and we were sittin’ around the food court flappin our jaws for awhile until Mike was like “hey that guy looks like Gary Fisher.” Mark and I both looked and, sure enough, that guy looked just like Gary Fisher. So I grabbed the camera and took off running cause I’ve been dieing to meet him.

I walked up, introduced myself as Tim Grahl from the Crooked Cog Network and, holy jamoly, he’d heard of me. So I just said I had wanted to meet him and such and he was like “let’s grab some coffee”, so I called down Mike and Mark and we all got coffee and sat around chatting about bikes for a half hour. You can check out the pics here.

We were all floored by how down to earth he was. Giving his honest opinion on everything from 9-geared bikes to 29ers to Keith Bontrager. Pretty freakin rad. I’ve been in vegas six hours and already had one of the highlights of the trip.

Stick around for tomorrow, tons of pictures and interbike coverage!

Welcome to Vegas, Tim! Hope to run into you at the big show. Nice score with Gary Fisher. Stop by the Media Center - I think I’ll be chained there through most of the show.

Casually chatting about bikes with Gary Fisher. Wow, that sounds great. I’ll have to try to make it to the show next year.

I hope you get a podcast interview from that.
