the fact is

until the roads are made safe for cyclist
the cyclist needs to put themselves where they are most safe

it may seem like wacky and wild riding
but
there is a method to the madness

It's not safety, it's not to help with bicycling issues, and it certainly will not provide more bike lanes. It's for more money in the governments coffers. That's it. When more of us scramble to our bikes and quit driving cars because of high fuel prices, you'll see it happen. They have to make up for the losses of tax revenue from lower gas sales someway or other. You can bet that the registering and regulation of bicycles and cyclists has only one goal in mind. It’s not safety, it’s not to help with bicycling issues, and it certainly will not provide more bike lanes. It’s for more money in the governments coffers. That’s it.
