If you haven’t been reading about it already, Jonathan Maus from BikePortland.org has been posting about his local radio show, 95.5 Jammin’ FM, and their hatred for cyclists. Last Thursday morning the host of the Emmy-nomminated show called “The Playhouse“, PK, expressed how he feels joy when a cyclist is hit or even killed. He encouraged listeners to call up and tell more stories about cyclists getting hurt because “it pumped him up.”

A Portland cyclist, Lanette, wrote in and told John about what she heard…

The female host then told a story of how the other day she had intentionally cut a cyclist off and the cyclist punched her rear window. She said, “Now I carry extra water bottles in my car to throw at them.”

The host has actually spent air time ridiculing Jonathan and the bikers of Portland for their overreaction to what he said. He also says that his comments were taken out of context and he didn’t say the things he is accused of. But for some reason the station won’t post the uneditied podcast of the Thursday morning show, like they do all the other shows. Hmmmmmm.

There have been a few posts on BikePortland about the situation and now Jonathan is looking for suggestions on what his next course of action should be.
