Cycling Statistics From The Outdoor Industry Foundation

The Outdoor Industry Foundation (OIF) just released their annual findings on outdoor activities for Americans age 16 and older. This is an annual study, which tracks back to 1998. The study researched 22 outdoor activities including paved road cycling, dirt road cycling, and singletrack cycling. Below is a summary of the findings for cycling:
- Both road and mountain biking activities have decreased from their peaks in 2001. Mountain biking took the bigger hit dropping by 17.3 million participants, where road only fell by 4.7 million during the same time frame.
