…Some of the nicer bikes out there apparently don’t have kickstands, but a trusty wine cork wedged in the brake handle will solve this problem. After you’ve taken care of the bike brakes, you can safely lean your bike up against something without fear of it rolling away.

I think that’s really a cool idea that can benefit so many people. You really post something different that can excite anybody. Oh that’s really great!

i use one of those rubber O-rings u get to fasten cycle computers n various bits..
i leave it on the handlebar grip up against the gear/brake levers when not in use and stretched over brake lever for those times i need to pop into the shop.

O-ring is almost invisible against the grip compared to the flimsey rubber band i used b4. :p

Cork is a great idea. Following up on #3 with the o-ring. Another thing that can work instead of the o-ring, and can be used for other things is a cut-up bicycle inner tube. Save an old bike inner tube, and just cut it straight across with scissors. Make as many ~rubber band things as you want. Very strong, and you can make them with varying stiffness depending on the inner tube and how wide you make it.
