World Naked Bike Ride 2006

I had an enjoyable day in the sun today, on the World Naked Bike Ride. The aims of the ride are to protest fossil fuel dependency and to promote a healthy body image. It was super fun!
We started out at Sunset Beach in downtown Vancouver. We gathered there for a while until we thought everyone had arrived, then we rode down the street a bit to get away from all the hordes of photographers. After getting properly naked (the policy was “As bare as you dare”), we proceeded to ride up Robson street (the heart of the downtown fancy shopping district) and around town. We also went through the touristy Gastown area, and over one of the major bridges before proceeding down 4th avenue (another fancy shopping district) and then ending at Jericho beach.
