Thanks for the help!

June 13th, 2006 by Tim Grahl

This weekend I was down in the basement ripping apart one of the bikes we have cause I needed some of the parts for another bike I’m building up. This was my first time doing a lot of this stuff since we just recently got the Torx tools from Pricepoint.com so was trying to take my time to make sure I didn’t jack anything up.

I had managed to get everything off without much trouble and was down to the bottom bracket and I couldn’t for the life of me get the thing off. I was about 99% sure I was cranking on it in the right direction, but before I really started putting some leverage on the tool I figured I’d better get some advice.

I thought about posting here to get some help but I’m an impatient guy, I wanted that bottom bracket off NOW!

So I was thinking of who I know that’s a bike mechanic and then… of course! I’ll call Guitar Ted. I ran upstairs, looked up the number for Europa Cycle and Ski out of Iowa (I’m in VA) and dialed the number. When someone picked up I asked for Mark (that’s his real name). He got on the phone, I told him what I was up against and he walked me right through it. Five minutes later I had my bottom bracket out I was down to just a frame.

I love this bloggin thing!

Thanks for your help Mark! You da man!
