		<description>thanks for the great tips. I am planning a cross country trip within the next three years, and have been accumulating info and ideas anywhere I can get them. Even seemingly little tips can make a big difference. 

I had planned on building my own "standard" road bike for the trip, but after much research have decided to ride a recumbent under seat steering. I realize that most still cross the country on the ball-busters, but I am in my 50's, and comfort with lack of pain is an essential requirement for the trip. Some of your tips will help with that, and have been added to my list.
