was it the sam cunningham roller cam?
that could lock up the rear wheel
but not a very effective brake
and yes
the dark days of the U-brake
there are some serious mud races and rides that stand strong in my memory
it was like a shelf
a shelf that could hold ten pounds of mud before it locks up the rear wheel
bianchi warrantied my frame that was many years old
sent them a many page letter expressing how this frame did not met the bianchi objectives (as stated in a catalog) it was a few points of the failure of the u-brake
the said send us the frame
the story continued
they sent me a sweet bianchi frame where there was an issue with the threads on the bottom bracket
while riding that bike they sent another warranty frame with headset, bottom bracket, and front derailer
which I rode hard
broke the frame and then had warrantied
as a clydesdale I have broken a number of frames
including my surly karate monkey
which is now a beautiful brown
after an effortless warranty
I love a company that will stand behind its product
