Hundreds of Cyclists to Gather for Memorial Bicycle Ride

Hundreds of King County bicyclists will take part in the National Ride of Silence on May 17 at 7 p.m. The ride commemorates the many cyclists who have been killed or injured by motorists while cycling on public roads.

Beginning at Gasworks Park in Seattle, Washington, the riders will proceed silently at a procession-like pace of 12 miles per hour through the neighborhoods of Fremont, Interbay, Downtown, Eastlake and the University District. Total distance of the ride is fourteen miles. There is no fee to participate, and all cyclists are welcome to attend.
