Mountain biking … in office buildings?

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) _ A few dozen amateur mountain bikers seem to have found the perfect solution to midwinter Minnesota cabin fever: a climate-controlled bicycle race in the sky.
Fifty mountain bikers jacked up on energy drinks whizzed from office building to office building last Wednesday night in the first Red Bull SkyRide, a race through the ‘’skyway” network of corridors that lets pedestrians get around downtown without venturing outside.
As the nine-to-five crowd thinned out Wednesday afternoon, blue-jeaned twenty-somethings mobbed a skyway-linked building atrium serving as a race rallying point. The Muzak was turned down, the Jack Johnson was turned up. The subtle scents of antiperspirants drifted out, making way for wafts of sweaty socks and spandex shorts.
