While most of my mountain bike rides begin and end at home, there are times when I take my act on the road. Loading up the car on the weekend and driving to a race or to a favorite riding spot is a special treat. What isn’t much of a treat is finishing a ride at a remote trailhead with a dirty bike and a gritty body. There’s never a bike wash or a hot shower available when you really need one.

Well, thanks to a simple, yet brilliant, idea that I ripped off from some riding pals, I now bring a bike wash and shower with me on every road trip. For around $15 you can too. Just stop by your local home/garden center and pick up a garden sprayer.
