Bicycle Front Suspension 1891
January 26th, 2006 by Tim GrahlThis appears to be a front suspension bike, patented in 1891. The seat and cranks are attached solidly to the rear wheel, but if the front wheel hit a bump it would be allowed to raise up against the spring located near the crank. Interesting.

I was looking at an old Moulton Bicycle from the 60s the other day. It had full suspension — a basic spring suspension on the fork below the crown, and an interesting pivot rear suspension.
