DEMAREST - Born with a bad leg in a country where disabilities are viewed as a punishment or curse, Emmanuel Ofosu Yeboah was fated to beg on the streets, like others with similar deformities.

But the man from Western Africa, who was abandoned by his father because of his physical defect, chose another path. He climbed on a mountain bike, pedaled more than 300 miles across Ghana with one leg and aimed to change his nation’s attitudes about the disabled.
