This was posted late last month but I thought it was pretty cool. These guys sat on a bike clipped in for almost 48 hours straight to win an Elite Magnus bike.

New York, New York - We began the bike-off at 7 am the morning of September 23rd. After explaining the rules and going over a waiver, we chose the names of the five contestants: Stephanie Willet, Joe Diamond, Kim Nicholaus, Andrea Galas, Michael Smyth. After getting the Elite Magnus bikes fitted with the contestants’ pedals and seats, all five sat down and clipped in. The clock read 8:04. “Wow, that was anticlimactic,” someone remarked. The contestants got out books and settled in.

At 9:06 am, Stephanie concluded a phone conversation, got off her bike and walked out of the store. She may have had a work conflict. We haven’t been able to reach her for comment.

The Winner: Joe Diamond

The morning and afternoon passed. Every three hours the contestants got a five minute break - after jogging to the bathroom, they stretched and chatted. Visitors came, bringing food, reading material, and encouragement.
