Cyclists ride for Gulf Coast relief
September 26th, 2005 by MikeLarry Krebsbach wanted to go south and help out after Hurricane Katrina, but it wasn’t possible.
Then someone offered to sponsor the Lincoln man if he rode his bicycle in Saturday’s Hurricane Relief Ride.
Kresbach thought about the people displaced by Katrina while he rode 32 miles of the course.
“It makes it easier to pedal when you know what you’re pedaling for,” he said.

I can’t think of a better way to use a mountain bike than what Mr. Kresbach and others used theirs for. The organizer of the event estimated that they raised around $3,000 for Katrina relief. Some of the people that were relocated by the hurricane were brought to Lincoln by different missions. Everyone that made it to Lincoln has found a home already. There aren’t too many Lincolns out there.
