My legs hurt
September 19th, 2005 by Tim GrahlMy legs are hurting pretty bad. I’m not exactly sure why. I haven’t done more riding then normal, however I have taken a few spills that banged them up a bit.
Last Thursday while doing some urban riding I tried to climb this super steep hill and my first try I fell off the bike and the pedal racked up the back of my calf which has left a pretty nasty bruise behind.
Saturday I took a buddy of mine on his first mountain bike ride. Blackwater Creek was on order for the day as it’s the easiest singletrack in the area and where I take all beginners. I decided to take the Redline Monocog for the ride and put my buddy on the Woodstock 505. About halfway through the ride we were going down a pretty flat stretch of track so I decided to work on my wheelies some. I definitely need the practice.
First one went pretty well. I held the wheelie for about 20 feet.
Second one, not so hot. I flipped backwards (clipped in of course) and landed squarely on my right cheek. It hurt some, but didn’t feel to bad so I just got on the bike and kept going. By later that night and yesterday I was having trouble sitting down and standing up without my hip and butt firing up. I felt like an old man.
Then yesterday I went for a ride at Candlers mountain and of course kicked over the handlebars on a log I hit to slow and pinned my lower right thigh between the frame and handlebars.
So this morning I rolled out of bed to meet Mike for our commute with tired and sore legs. Still feels lame cause it’s not like I have been overworking them on the rides.
Whatever. I need a masseuse.
