Rocks, roots and nature: ‘That’s what makes it mountain biking’

Shortly after getting up with the sun, Chris Henning takes his bright green mountain bike off the rack attached to the back of his car. He spends a few minutes tightening nuts and bolts as he secures a fat tire to the frame.

“It’s like a big spaghetti bowl,” says Henning. “There’s an infinite amount of trails in there that (have) varying terrain. You look at the field and it seems very docile, but you get out there and it’s rocky and full of roots. It can be pretty technical.”

“That’s what makes it mountain biking,” says Even.
