NEMBA Fest Proceeds Go To Katrina Victims

Head over to Sandwich, Massachusetts this weekend with an open heart, as the proceeds from the 9th Annual NEMBA Mountain Bike Festival will go directly to the American Red Cross. The festival itself is the grand finale to the Harpoon-Topeak MTB Adventure ride series.

When NEMBA executive director Philip Keyes realized that the U.S. government planned to place 2,500 Hurricane Katrina victims at nearby Camp Edwards at Otis AirForce Base, the recent natural disaster really hit home. With 250 already placed, many more are soon to arrive. “Usually the NEMBA Fest acts as a fund raiser for much-needed advocacy efforts, given the dire situation in Louisiana, it’s the right thing to do,” said Keyes.
