Jeff Kerkove kicked out of the Worlds
August 28th, 2005 by Tim GrahlThe poor sap, Suart Dorland, who’s in charge of the 24 hours of Adrenaline endurance race is getting chewed up and spit out by people all over the internet community for kicking Jeff Kerkove out of the Worlds because he posted some personal opinions about the race in this thread at the MTBR forums.
Let’s see…
Jeff Kerkove wrote about what happened to him…
Guitar Ted (Jeff’s friend and co-worker) is disgusted…
Jon Maus talks about the PR nightmare Dorland’s rash actions have caused…
Go Clipless is talking about it to…
For a guy that is concerned about what’s said in the “internet community”, he obviously knows jack about how it works.
Why are you gonna piss off a guy that is the most influential endurance racer in the blog community? If Dorland would’ve just let it be, then only the handful of posters in the forum would have ever read the remarks. Now, not only have more people read Kerkove’s remarks (which Dorland was soooo worried about) but now thousands of people who didn’t even know who Dorland was thinks he’s a jerk and an idiot.
I agree with Maus… the only way Dorland can pull himself out of this crap mess is to reverse his decision and “send him a first class plane ticket to Worlds and buy him a few pints when he gets there.”
If you want to pass on your thoughts about the situation to the staff of 24 hours of Adrenaline, the general email address is info@twenty4sports.com.
