Mountain Biking: Rebels dominate downhill

In the world of mountain biking, it’s easy to pick out the downhillers and their followers. They are the groups sporting heavy metal rock ‘n’ roll looks and drinking beer, preferably a cheap variety, before the sun even hits noon.

While mountain biking’s popularity has made the sport mainstream, the downhillers are still considered the rebellious, and slightly wacky, riders. You have to be a little nuts to launch yourself off log jumps and through rock piles for fun.
