Bike Tour for Equality

August 17th, 2005 by Tim Grahl

A group of riders have gone across America and are now into Asia to teach and promote equality of women. They even have a blog so you can keep up with them daily!

We are riding our bicycles 10,000 miles across the United States and through East Asia working to ensure women’s rights. We are men that believe that sexual and legal abuse of women can not end until men begin to play an active role in bringing about a solution. In schools across the United States, we will be teaching young men both about rape prevention and about understanding masculinity in more positive terms than through violence and competition. In Asia, we will be visiting and working with organizations that work to end the trafficking of women and girls. Especially with the flood of vulnerable orphans in the area after the tsunami, work on this issue has become an absolute necessity.
