Guides’ mountain bikes, gear stolen from van in motel parking lot

What was supposed to be a mountain bike adventure turned into a not-so-excellent visit to Rockwood when four bicycles valued at about $12,000 were stolen from a hotel parking lot earlier this week.

Four mountain bike guides for the Mountain Bike Adventure Co. of Moab, Utah, checked into the Super 8 Motel at 121 S.E. 181st Ave. on Sunday night, said Officer Grant McCormick, Gresham Police Department spokesman. The four guides were set to lead 11 people on a mountain bike adventure on Mount Hood the next day.

Imagine what those guys were feeling when they woke up to an empty trailer. No bikes, no fun. Plus the anger that goes through your mind when something that you worked hard for is stolen by some jack wad. All I know is that if I’m going on an excursion to Moab with mountain bikes that cost that much, I’m gonna sleep with them.

    My 2003 stumpjumper pro m4 got jacked from my place in Salt Lake in March (20.5), i’m still pissed, and will be for a long time, inside job I believe.
    Saving up fpr an fsr, hope u find those losers and beat them done.
