With the launch of a Ghostcycle program and web site, Seattle is now at the forefront in the fight for cyclist’s rights. Programs such as Ghostcycle, which spread the word about incidents that involve cyclists being struck by cars, have taken place around the country in cities like St. louis and Pittsburgh. Seattle’s Ghostcycle.org is a comprehensive web site where cyclists can report traffic accidents and share their stories. The site also serves as a vehicle for educating the public on bike advocacy.

It seems like the ball has been rolling in our favor lately as far as advocacy and awareness. Ghostcylce seems to be similar to the TRUTH program put on against tobacco companies, but keeping people aware of cyclists. When you visit their site you can click a link that pulls up a Google map with about 40 GhostCycle sites. You can see the cycle itself (like the pic above) and read about the accident that took place at each site.
