Drumroll, please: The Mountain Biking Hall of Fame and Museum recently announced the inductees for 2004. All five individuals have worked for decades in various roles and have left their mark on the industry and the sport.

Matt Hebberd, in the Pioneers category, has been biking on trails and helping others do so since 1975. He participated in the first Repack Race at the tender age of fourteen and since then has given his services to Cove Bike Shop, Trailmaster, Wilderness Trail Bikes, Rim Tours and others. He also overcame debilitating injuries from a bike-car accident that put his ability to ride in question.

Kurt Loheit is being inducted for his advocacy work spanning seventeen years and countless organizations. He was a founding member of Los Angeles’ Concerned Off Road Bicyclists Organization (which later merged with other CA groups to form IMBA) and helped start CORBA’s Youth Adventures Program. He has applied his engineering skills from his day job to elevate the art of trail building, and has worked hard to broadcast his knowledge.
