Missing bicyclist found
August 2nd, 2005 by MikeSearchers in the Waterton Canyon area have found a 33-year-old bicyclist who had been missing overnight.
The Highlands Ranch man went for a two-hour bike ride at 6 p.m. Monday. When he did not return, family members contacted authorities.
Jefferson County sheriff’s deputies found the man’s car in a Waterton Canyon parking lot Monday night and searchers this morning found him walking out. He apparently had a mechanical break down during his ride.

It ended up getting too dark for this guy to fix anything so he built a fire in the middle of the trail and waited for morning. There was also a 12 hour search for the biker but no one noticed the fire he built. His family was waiting for him at the base of the trail. This situation turned out o.k. but when I go riding I make sure there is at least one person who knows where I am and when I will be back.
