Signs of Crankbrothers’ first jaunt into the flat pedal market have been made apparent after releasing information on their new flat pedal range and its imminemt release later this summer.

All previous Crank Brothers pedals were based around the well known Egg Beater design with the Candy and Mallet pedals that used an additional platform to support the foot. Recently a road specific pedal, the Quattro was realeased but now the range has diversified further with the new 5050 flat pedal due to be released in August 2005. This latest pedal is an “inventive blend of customisation and hard-hitting durability”. It incorporates an innovative design which allows simple replacement of sections that become damaged on those darn pedal-bashing rockgardens. Every 5050 pedal body is made from two different materials, available in different colours.
