Lots of Ridin

July 1st, 2005 by Mike

I’ve been hitting the trails more than normal this week. I rode Candlers once, and Peaks View Park three times within 24 hours. Yesterday, after work, I hit the trail with Troy from our LBS (Bikes Unlimited). I had already ridden Peaks View that morning with Tim so I was a little iffy about how I would perform. It’s amazing how you can push yourself when you are riding with someone that is better than you. We did some great loop combinations and I hit a few trails that I had never ridden before. The Gary Fisher X-Caliber, like always, performed like a champ. I tackled a few hills that I hadn’t ever made up before. It was a typical Virginia Summer afternoon, the humidity had to be somewhere around 100%. I was sweating so much I had a hard time keeping a grip on the handlebars. We rode about 8 miles in a little less than an hour, which was two miles more than Tim and I rode that morning and we were out about the same amount of time. It was a great ride. Thanks Troy for kicking my butt.
