Ahhh how nice. My esteemed governor, Mark Warner, took a spill on his bike the other day while riding his bike and broke his hand. My favorite quote from the article:

He was approaching a railroad track and holding a water bottle in one hand, leaving him unable to apply pressure evenly to the hand brakes for the front and rear wheels, Mr. Hall said. The front brakes caught, and the bike flipped.

I am glad he’s a big proponent for cycling, staying fit, etc. and I’m sure it sucks to be in a position where falling on your bike is worthy of headline news. However I still get a kick out of “the front brakes caught”. That tends to happen when you pull that little lever.
