My Governor takes a spill on his bike
June 29th, 2005 by Tim GrahlAhhh how nice. My esteemed governor, Mark Warner, took a spill on his bike the other day while riding his bike and broke his hand. My favorite quote from the article:
He was approaching a railroad track and holding a water bottle in one hand, leaving him unable to apply pressure evenly to the hand brakes for the front and rear wheels, Mr. Hall said. The front brakes caught, and the bike flipped.
I am glad he’s a big proponent for cycling, staying fit, etc. and I’m sure it sucks to be in a position where falling on your bike is worthy of headline news. However I still get a kick out of “the front brakes caught”. That tends to happen when you pull that little lever.

Perhaps he shoulda been drinking with the other hand, keeping his back brakes available. But no one says common sense is a requirement to be a politician.
