I just got to Illinois a week ago and this is how hot it has been, every single day. I’m eager to hit some of the new trails out here, but then again…. I like being alive. 104 degrees!
I really need to get a new bladder for the Camelback. My water bottle cage is broken too, so my options for fighting thirst (and unconsiousness) are very limited. Hopefully it rains, floods, or we suddenly have a freak blizzard. Seriously.
The Chicago area has been going through an unofficial drought as it hasn’t rained in weeks, and to top it off… there’s a water boil order due to some contamination in the local reservoirs.
Hopefully it cools off soon…

I’m almost 50, don’t get the miles I used to, but got out every second day and rode at least 25 each day. FEEL’s great to sweat and be out alone on a hot road.
