What’s your fix?

Mountain biking may be to skiers what the nicotine patch is to smokers: a vital tool for helping snow addicts cope with the dry months of summer. But in addition to easing withdrawal symptoms, mountain biking also can improve your skiing fitness and technique.

Now for me it’s the other way around. Skiing is definitely a great adrenaline fix for the dark winter months, but it is no where near the hit that mountain biking is. I’m a pretty good skier and can take most any double black diamond (that’s about as expert as it get’s for the amateur skiers) out in the rockies of the west and I’ve done everything from falling off cliffs to hitting buildings to slamming into trees. But nothing compares to the adrenaline of going down the side of a mountain on a bike and knowing the pain of a fall is so much worse then on a snow covered run.

What’s your adrenaline fix when a two wheeled ride isn’t available?
