Early Mornin Ridin
June 16th, 2005 by MikeTim and I hit the trail this morning at about 10 minutes to 6. It had been a while since we have done a pre-work ride and it felt great. It was only about 65 degrees outside as opposed to the 95 it will be later today. It’s getting light around 5:30 am, so visibility was fine in the woods. The trail conditions were almost perfect. We hit a few mud patches, but it’s not a ride without a little of that.
I was on the Gary Fisher X-Caliber for only the second time. I have to say that I love the bike. Tim always told me how it just rolls over anything and he was definitely right. I feel a little stretched out because I have been riding a smaller framed Raleigh M80 but it is very easy to get used to.
The only problem with riding before work is that you can’t stay out as long as you want to. Tim and I rode for an hour and still had good legs but it was time to head to work so we called it quits. Nothing makes me feel better than an early morning ride before work. I love being a blue collar mountain biker.
