the harley cost around $40 and $30 for shipping and handling. it's not meant for realy rough trains or hard core cycling. it a glorified city bike but its a good ride and better for parts.

If your want a parts bike allong with disc brakes go to toysrus.com. the harley davidson is a relativly good bike but if you should need brakes and a few other parts all you would have to do is canibalize it for parts.

There are some other discs available in this price range, but I don't know about their quality. Nashbar has two low price options:

1. Deore Discs - $89.95 for full set-up (front and rear brakes, cables and rotors.) http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=69&subcategory=1013&brand=&sku=8313&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=

2. Nashbar brand - $64.95 for full set-up(!)
http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?category=69&subcategory=1013&brand=&sku=13028&storetype=&estoreid=&pagename=

At these prices, I would upgrade myself, but my fork and frame are only compatible with old school v-brakes.

Tim, I've run these brakes in the past and they're not worth the cash.

My recommendation is that you save your money and go for something that provides better value and performance like the Avid BB7 (or the cheaper BB5 if it's available outside of OEM). They'll cost you a bit more at first but you won't be wanting to change them right away.

I've run the BB7s as well and they're a world apart from the Hayes. Like all cable discs, the Avid mechanicals tend to fade over the course of a ride (esp. in the wet) so you'll need to adjust them when you're taking a break.
