Advertising Has Changed a Bit in the Last 50 Years

May 12th, 2005 by Tim Grahl

cyber-heritage.co.uk:

Mary was tired of the grizzle-grumble groans of her machine - the way its brakes failed to act, etc. She envied the ease and silence of her friend Edna’s cycle, which she imagined to be almost new. Edna explained: “My bicycle, Mary, is at least two years older than yours, but I look after it, clean and oil it, and replace any worn parts with GENUINE PHILLIPS FITMENTS. That’s why it’s in such marvellous condition”. A week or so afterwards. Mary sped along with Edna - enjoying the equivalent of a NEW machine, thanks to following Edna’s advice and asking her Cycle Dealer for PHILLIPS Cycle Replacement Parts.
