Starter Compression Shirt
May 11th, 2005 by Guitar TedFor quite a while I’ve been looking for a good base layer shirt that is similar to Under Armour, but I didn’t want to spend a butt load of money just for a shirt.
So I decided to get a similar shirt like the Under Armour that was made out of the same fabric, Polyester, Spandex and Nylon. I drove down to the the local Wally World and purchased a Starter Long-sleeved Compression Shirt for about $7.

I was actually pretty surprised on how well it works! I rode with the shirt under my jersey during the day on Saturday and in the evening on Monday. At both times, I actually forgot I had them on since I it acts like your second skin. The shirt kept me cool during climbs and at comfortable temperature while going fast on the hills and the flat parts of the trail. The shirt works well because its super tight! But you don’t even feel it. You get the same mobility as you would wearing spandex shorts, but on a shirt.
Overall Opinion
Pros: Cheap Price, same fabric as the other expensive brands, keeps me cool, and warm, WORKS GREAT!
Cons: Color choices; red and blue.
